SUBMITTED BY LIFESPAN RESOURCES
SOUTHERN INDIANA – LifeSpan Resources, the local Area Agency on Aging for Clark, Floyd, Harrison and Scott counties, and Ivy Tech Community College have partnered to provide dementia training to community members who are interested in learning more about the signs of dementia, how to manage loved ones and co-workers with early onset dementia and understand what community resources are available to individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
The event will take place on Tuesday, April 14 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Ivy Tech Sellersburg’s Ogle Hall Community Room. Registration is required.
The event will include a light breakfast and Dementia Friends presentation with a Q&A period following. Attendees will also have the option of completing a 30-minute Dementia Live training at the end of the event.
With the 65 and older population more than doubling by 2040, LifeSpan Resources and Ivy Tech want to ensure all community members are educated about this cognitive disease and how to best recognize and manage the stages. This training is ideal for individuals experiencing signs of dementia and their family members, caregivers, employers and healthcare providers.
